Its overall action is considered stimulating and can be used to bring alertness to the mind or diluted and applied topically to the adrenal areas to help general fatigue.  Fir is often included in cough and cold remedies/rubs and has been researched for its ability to kill airborne germs and bacteria.  

Put in bath water, diffuse or massage-first dilute in a carrier oil for massage in cases of arthritis, rheumatism, muscular aches and pains.

Can be a skin irritant so always dilute with a carrier oil.
